sustainability & ethics
we know that making new clothes uses resources. there’s no way around that—but there are better ways to do it. at 0x11, we aim to create intentionally and minimize harm, always keeping quality and responsibility at the core.
sustainability means different things to different people. for us, it’s about transparency, progress, and making thoughtful choices at every step.
thoughtful materials
we prioritize fabrics that are organic, natural, and biodegradable—materials that break down without releasing microplastics or lingering in landfills for decades. our fabrics are chosen not just for their look and feel, but for their environmental footprint.
some fabrics we use:
- cotton: a breathable, durable natural fiber that’s biodegradable and doesn’t release microplastics when washed. we work with mills that meet high quality standards to ensure softness and structure without excessive processing.
- lyocell: a natural fiber made from wood pulp in a closed-loop process
- deadstock fabric: repurposed leftover textiles that would otherwise go to waste
we avoid synthetics unless absolutely necessary (like for fit or structure), and if they’re used, we’ll always let you know.
low-plastic, low-waste
we use little to no plastic throughout our process. if plastic is used—for example, to protect garments during transit—it’s biodegradable or compostable. all our packaging is minimal and considered, made from recycled or recyclable materials.
we produce in small batches to avoid overproduction. this means less waste, no excess inventory, and a more thoughtful, slower approach to fashion. every piece is made with purpose, not mass-produced.
ethical manufacturing
most of our garments are made in the u.s., with some produced internationally. we choose our factories based on their skillsets and ability to meet the technical needs of each piece—whether that’s a delicate finish, advanced machinery, or construction details.
we work only with partners who meet high standards for quality, ethics, and working conditions. it’s about making things the right way, not just the fast way.
more we’re working on
sustainability is a constant work in progress, and we’re always looking for ways to do better. right now, we’re focused on sourcing even more natural and innovative fabrics, especially ones that are low-impact and biodegradable.
as we grow, we’re committed to continuing our education—whether that’s through workshops, industry research, or conversations with people who’ve been doing this work longer than we have. there’s always more to learn, and we’re here for it.
